Here we have Ms Moran'c class helping our Junior Infants with computers. There are lots of fun games on the computers in the computer room but sometimes we need a little help with the mouse and clicking the right button. Thank goodness the third class pupils are very glad to help us!

Shared reading in the sunshine
What a fabulous week of weather we have had and what better way to enjoy it than to sit with friends and to read a book! That is exactly what Ms Gorman and Ms Moran did along with the students in their classes- oh if only every day was as good as this one!

Pancake Tuesday
On Pancake Tuesday I ate lots and lots of Pancakes. We made loads of batter. It was very floury. The batter was made from 2 eggs, lots of flour and a cup of milk. Stir it all together until it looks watery. Then for this part you might need an adult.Pour the batter into a saucepan and wait for it to cook.Flip it when you think it is cooked.Get a plate and put any type of toppings you want and enjoy. Digital schools day
On digital school's day. the third class used Knex to build objects that were 2D. These included houses, dinosaurs, hammers and drills. We had to work together to share the knex pieces and we also had to read instructions on how to put it together. We loved this activity and hope to do it again

National Day of Prayer for Children
On Friday 14th of September, we had a prayer service for children and missionaries from all over the world. All the pupils and staff gathered in the main hall and Mr O Raoghaill taught us all about Europe, The Americas, Oceania, Asia and Africa. We also said a decade of the rosary for
each area, sang songs and learned about missionaries.
Maths Week
Maths week will take place throughout Ireland from 15-23 October. During this week, there will be lots of fun games and activities that encourage children to develop their problem solving and reasoning skills and also contribute to developing a positive attitude towards Maths.
Friendship Week
Friendship week always takes place in September and we like to focus on a positive statement of "Friendship" rather than "Anti-bullying". All classes engaged in lessons that encouraged the children to promote tolerance, friendship and forgiveness. Dr. Maureen Griffin, a Forensic Psychologist came to our school and talked to the third to sixth class children. She spoke about issues around social media, the internet and mobile phone safety and we wrote about this on our blog pages. Friendship week has proved very beneficial in previous years, in particular at this stage of the year.
Beginning of Year School Mass
Our pupils and staff from all mainstream classes as well as Sonas two and three gathered in the school hall for a beautiful mass. Fr Harte spoke on the importance of listening to our hearts, minds and bodies and also reminded the children of God's love for all of us. The choir and many teachers including Ms Nolan, Ms Clifford, Ms. Lucey, Ms Reynolds and Ms Moran performed various pieces of music on a wide variety of instruments.
